You don’t want your house to accumulate useless toys over the festive season. So I’ve put together some of my favourite toys that are tried and true favourites.
Today, we’ll look at the toddlers from 2 to 3 years…
For toddlers from 2 to 3 years
1. Russian doll
An all time favourite you can buy a traditional Russian doll like the one here in Dam square, or pick up a modern version at Flying Tiger.
2. Chelona layered puzzles
I love this Italian brand for puzzles. High quality, well priced and provide a good challenge for the puzzlers. I love them all but particularly these layered puzzles.
3. Peg board with elastics
Use this peg board with a small basket of elastic bands. I love watching the kids tackle stretching the elastics over the pegs. And older kids can continue to play with this making elaborate patterns. If you are handy you could make your own with some wood and nails. And if not, this one is from www.absorbentminds.co.uk.
4. Fantacolor peg board
I must be a fan of peg boards! This one has smaller pegs for more refined control. And again can be used by older kids too to make simple pictures like a flower or house. (Please note: with small parts, adult supervision is recommended).
If you have a 3 year old, stick around for the next instalment of the Montessori Gift Guide coming soon.
